Sliding Gates

Sliding gates move sideways across the driveway entrance. They are useful when there is limited room for a gate to swing open, as long as there is enough space beside the opening along the fence line. Designs can provide privacy, visibility, or a decorative appearance - and can be manual or automated.

Site slope, side clearance, wind exposure, and gate weight all influence whether a sliding gate is the right choice for your property.

Common questions

Sliding gates work well when swing clearance is limited but you have enough space beside the opening for the leaf to travel. Steep slopes, uneven pads, or short side runs may favor a swing gate instead.
